The 30.7-hectare vineyard of Chateau La Mission Haut Brion is situated in Talence, neighboring Chateau Haut Brion. While both chateaus share proximity, La Mission's vineyards are spread across Talence and Pessac Leognan. The vineyard benefits from two streams, Ars and Peugue, ensuring moisture during hot vintages. It rests on gravelly hills rising up to 25 meters, with a terroir of deep gravel, clay, sand, and chalk. Red grape varieties cover 27 hectares, with a shift towards 43.8% Merlot, a departure from earlier years. Cabernet Sauvignon accounts for 45.8%, while Cabernet Franc is at 10.4. These vines, averaging 37 years old, stand at 8,000 plants per hectare. The vine density at La Mission Haut Brion is higher than at Haut Brion, contributing to distinct wine styles. Vinification involves large, temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. Blending occurs post-Malolactic fermentation, before wood influence, and aging transpires in new French oak for about 22 months.

Pessac-Léognan
It’s on Bordeaux's left bank, is renowned for elegant wines, benefitting from a privileged location just south of Bordeaux city. Its diverse soil structure, featuring gravel, sand, and clay, nourishes the vines and contributes to unique flavors. Red wines, mainly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, thrive here, yielding rich, structured wines with opulent black fruit aromas, spices, smoke, and earthiness. White wines feature Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, offering bright citrus fruit, herbal notes, and mineral undertones for a refreshing palate experience. In conclusion, Pessac-Léognan is a brilliant gem celebrated for refined wines. The diverse soil and nurturing climate create distinctive characteristics in the reds dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and the whites composed of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.
