Chairman’s Selection Red Wine is an unusual Napa Valley blend that delivers big flavor without big tannins. The fruit was hand harvested at night to retain freshness and acidity. Native fermentation started after a 5-day cold soak and reached a peak temperature of 85°F. The wine was pumped over twice a day until dry, then pressed and drained to barrels where malolactic fermentation occurred. Aged for 22 months in 50% new French oak barrels with medium-long toast, the Chairman’s Selection was bottled unfined and unfiltered

Sourced mostly from the cooler, southern part of the Napa Valley, the fruit was hand-picked and triple-sorted before undergoing an extended cold soak, with 3 weeks on the skins. After primary fermentation and native malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 22 months in French oak (50% new) and minimally racked before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

The complex aromatics have it all—underforest earthiness with a core of black cherry and baking spices, complemented by flinty minerality. Velvety on the palate, the wine is perfectly weighted with incredible natural acidity and a long, evolving finish. One of our favorites from a truly outstanding vintage. Drink now and over the next 10 years.

The fruit was hand harvested at night to retain freshness and acidity. After a 5 day cold soak, the wines began native fermentation in a combination of oak and stainless steel. We completed two pumpovers per day, until dry, and pressed between 14-21 days. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel, 100% French oak, 80% new. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
